The numerous lakes and rivers of the Auvergne make it a perfect area to expore for fishing. The quality of the water mean that in summer the trout often grow to quite impressive sizes in the mountain lakes and reservoirs. Popular fishing stretches in Auvergne include the Alagnon, Santoire, Jordanne or Cère in the Cantal; the Allier, Gazeille, Lignon or Méjanne in Haute-Loire; the Sioule or Couze Pavin in Puy-de-Dôme. We are a short drive from the Sioule.

You can buy fishing licenses in the local town of St Gervais d'Auvergne, the local supermarket sells bait and some equipment and there are specialist tackle shops in the town of St Eloy les Mines
