The quiet roads and forest tracks of the Auvergne lend themselves brilliantly to all kinds of cycling, whether on road or mountain bikes.

For the more adventurous there are plenty of marked trails on the mountain passes in the Sancy mountain range, see the links below for some of the popular routes

Why not ride a part of even the whole of one of the four Tour de France stages that went through the Auvergne in 2008?

Close to the gite there are miles of marked trails through forests and little villages, and the local roads are generally quiet.

We would recommend you use the IGN range of maps which are 1:25 000 scale and show footpaths and trails (we keep a set in the gite, or you can buy some yourself - see the links on the right)

If you bring your own bike we have facilities for storage and drying, plus a few tools if you need them. There are also some local hire shops -
