You don't have to go far from our Gite to find flora and fauna
- the owl above was spotted a few metres away from our house.
We encourage wildlife on our land, we garden organically and with
companion planting to encourage the already abundant wildlife.
There are ornithology sites nearby - the nearest one is around
7km away, just outside St Gervais d'Auvergne
We are lucky to be situated a short distance from Parc
Naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, the largest
regional nature park in France, comprising more than 395,000 hectares
of glaciers, lakes, gently rolling countryside, plateaux and volcanoes.
Regular organised nature walks take place during the summer
in the Sancy
nature reserves where you can look for Chamois, Mouflons,
Deer and Marmots, as well as wild flowers and birds
