Weather |
|
Typical of all mountainous regions, the weather
in the Auvergne is varied. Although the region is known for it's
distinct seasons there have been some anomolies in recent years.
In general though, this is what you can expect - just remember
to arrive prepared! |
| |
Summer |
This sun is out and it is hot in the lower plains, fresher
in the mountain areas. A great time of year for exploring the
terrain or relaxing in the garden. |
Autumn |
September and October are changeable, but often remain sunny.
The autumn colours of the endless forests make this a good time
of year for photography. |
Winter |
Lots of snow, or so we hope! And when it does the landscape
is transformed into a picturesque scene, with the added bonus
of several ski resorts within around an hours drive. Snow chains
may be required if you bring a car. |
Spring |
As winter begins to thaw, this is an unpredictable season
where you are as likely to encounter snow as spring sunshine.
It does rain, which is what makes the landscape so luscious, but
when the sun comes out it is warm and a beautiful time of year. |
